The top-ranking authorities of Italy, the event’s Hosting Country, and the top officials of the WHO and of other core Organizations, will unite their voices to recall the importance of voluntary non-remunerated blood donations. It is a simple and generous act that lays the grounds for a right that many human beings are still denied: the right to safe blood for all.

 
 

World Blood Donor Day Concert

Giving is music to our ears and it is with music that we want to celebrate donors. The virtual event will be staged at the Auditorium of Rome, where a group of artists, led by Indonesian singer-songwriter Anggun, will give life to a song and dance performance to remind us that a simple gift can set the rhythm for the world’s heart to continue beating.

Managing donors and blood resources are the pitfalls underlying such a global and unforeseen emergency as is the Covid-19 pandemic. These are some of the issues that will be addressed in the meeting that will unite members of the scientific communities of five continents, who will be called on to debate their field experience in tackling a challenge that is the same the world over.
